University of KZN
These promotional posters for the University of KZN were commissioned specifically to recruit new students to join and most importantly, to take their place amongst leading academics and innovators. I was briefed to create artwork that has a classic, traditional engraved type look. The posters allude to remarkable software, innovations, and systems that can be learned at the university.
Using sketches, I produced artwork that I scanned in and used Adobe Photoshop coupled with techniques that emulate engravings. I sourced several vintage-looking paper image textures, selected one, and applied it as a background image. To create the final poster comp, the simulated ‘engraved’ illustration was overlaid onto the paper background texture.
