3D Characters
3D Characters projects, complete development for a new character requires a specific process. I use several applications that fit well into my workflow.
3D Characters process
My main modeling application is Luxology Modo. Modo is a highly capable 3D modeling application and is known for its stunning renders. I use Pixologic ZBrush for more organic type 3D modeling, as a general rule to define characters form. The completed base mesh model is then exported to Modo for UV mapping, rigging, weight mapping, and final texture and material assignment. Once the character rigging is complete and all the weight maps are optimized, the posing stage can be commenced. The final stage is posing and then rendering. Poses that are set up can also be stored in a pose library for future use.
